Just Keep Swimming

Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim.
- Dory
Just had my last swimming carnival, ever (yay). I woke up nice and early in order to make it on the 7am bus departing to Chandler Aquatic Centre from school and the day started from there. After switching to and from stands a few times, we finally found our designated stands, located on the second level (we're usually on the first level so this change was a bit exciting). Ahhh Rosie and Jess made everyone in our year twelve England tie-dye "ponchos" and blue sombrero hats with "England" painted on it! We looked a bit ridiculous, but safety in numbers right? There were 25 of us + Mrs. Morrison (our lovely house group teacher) and Mrs. Lowry (our Head of House) wearing it too!

To be honest, I've never really enjoyed swimming carnivals but I guess once you realise it's your last year, you just begin to enjoy everything so much more, like I actually had a really fun time today. Except when we tried going to talk to people in other houses and Mr. Creese kept shooing us away because we didn't belong in that house or some crap. Oh well, Emily and I still had some fun walks around the place.

I think Alice definitely gets best/cutest/awesomest costume of the carnival, I mean, just look at her, she's so cute! There were a few funky outfits but green Crayola beats them all.

And here's Alice trying to blend in with Griffith house.........

But back to swimming business, this year was the 100th year of Lifesaving at our school and same as every year we have this Lifesaving relay where a person from each grade in each house forms a relay and they have to "life-save" with the last life saving task is to help a designated teacher from the house to the finish. Also, congratulations to Lilley House who won the overall carnival! We were all pretty surprised the England actually managed to get 5th place, we've never done so well before...

Well, I guess that's all for now, I have to continue working on my English oral which is due on Monday. I still have to cut out about 300 more words, finish my powerpoint and memorise my speech, yey for me.

Valentine's

If you held up 11 roses into a mirror, you'd be looking at 12 of the most beautiful things in the world.

Happy Valentine's everyone! Love was definitely in the air seeing how everything and everyone at school were all decked out in pink and red eating and dancing all day. Chantal and I first went up to the year eights before going to our house group to give them each the red paper hearts with notes on them, these amazing Ferrero Rochers wrapped in hand-made flowers made by Chantal and a heart shaped cake.

How lovely do they look? She made an entire bouquet of chocolate paper roses.

After seeing the year eights we went back to our house group and got more goodies! How cute is Rosie?!

Besides all the Valentine's Day stuff around, it was pretty much just another interesting day at school. Although during lunch everyone went and hit up the D-FLOOR, I preferred taking photos along with Emily.

Bella lent me her fish eye lens which I got to use for half of lunch time, it's such a cool lens although it's not a lens as such, it's more of an extension to Canon lens which she purchased in Hong Kong.

Letter from Japan

This lovely letter sealed in a cute envelope appeared in my mail box the other day from Japan! She talked about how she was doing in Japan and about her family (because she hasn't been in contact for years and decided to mail) and it made me realise how I wished people sent letters like the way this woman did more often. You know, sometimes I wish people would just send letters like this more often instead of Facebook messaging one another, even though they may be more efficient but I think receiving letters gives you a nice warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Also, sorry for this whole viewing image problem in my previous few posts, Photobucket is being really annoying and cheap so I've converted to Blogger uploader now and it's more convenient too.

Below is a photo of I spent my time doing yesterday night. I'm did half and Chantal has also the other half. We are writing little Valentine's notes for the year eights to give to them on Tuesday!

Before I finish, you all need to listen to this song by Ailee! It's seriously amazing and her voice and the song and everything about it is lovely, so listen!

Blue, there it is.

Last house party, ever ):

Not saying this just because I'm in year twelve but I honestly thought that this year house party was probably the best we've had over the past five years (despite the technical difficulties). We had discussed to make it Disney themed so we assigned each year group a Disney Princess movie which they had to base their skit from and all the year levels actually put effort into them unlike the previous years where most grades just put something together in the last minute even we did sort of but it turned out quite good (we had Mulan).

Pretty much, everyone ate, watched/performed skits, dressed up in blue and had fun, I still remember my first house party in year eight down at A3 of the CLC, sigh, reminiscing about those days.

...And what's a party without pizza?

OH and just before I finish this post, I really want to watch The Vow! For those of you who haven't heard of this movie, watch the trailer, it was out yesterday and it has Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams in it *u*

First in Best Dressed

People ask why life is sometimes so full of pain. Well, without pain, would we learn how to appreciate happiness? Would people learn from their mistakes? Would people learn how to pick themselves up after they fall? Sometimes pain is the best teacher and through the pain, we learn how to show kindness to others.
Yes, I changed my theme yet again because I personally prefer this one over my previous one. The template allows you to comment now and I'm not if it's just me but I'm pretty sure my URL didn't have a .au at the end before. I can tell you that holidays are long dead and gone while Valentine's Day (Single Awareness Day) is just approaching around the corner. Since we're seniors now, we are able to decorate the school is red and pink shenanigans all around the school! Year twelve is already getting hectic with so many events coming up, things to organise, topics to discuss and places to be it's amazing how people survive and keep their sanity, especially with the whole QCS thing. Well at least we get a nice badge to go with this year.

One topic that's going around the year level is the formal. I actually went to book for MAC at David Jones but the latest they had was an appointment at 11am... yeah no. Then the lastest one at Myer was at 1pm so I booked for that one but then I went to Napoleon Perdis which had one at 3.45pm! So I'm thinking I'm going to with that one because I don't want to get it done too early in case my make up smudges or gets ruined. If I get it done at 1pm, then I'll have to get my hair done even earlier which isn't ideal although some of friends say they get their hair done after.. So many people are talking about dresses, dates etc. and it sucks because three other formals are also on that night so bookings for limos and such things are so limited, the Champagne Bus and Stretch Hummer are already booked out. There's a Hummerzine but my friend got a quote from them and it was $2000 for a 10 minute ride so I'm thinking no to that.

Apart from looking at formal dresses people are posting on Facebook, I did manage to squeeze some studying and a nice nature walk around my spider infested garden. I don't even bother going down the stairs because I know the only things that will down there are spiders...
