Food Adventures: Hoo Ha Bar

While overseas, the one of the top things I missed most was brunch, and boy oh boy have I been brunching since I got back. Originally, we had planned to go to The Roastery Cafe however the weather deemed unsuitable for walking without an umbrella. Since we organised beforehand to meet at the Southbank busway, Sarah and I went to take a look at Hoo Ha Bar, right across the road from where we were meeting at.

Once we stepped inside, we were immediately astonished by the rustic interior and the cafe was larger than what it seemed from the outside. Without hesitation, Sarah and I took a few menus and headed over to the corner sofa and seats while we waited for Sandra and Michelle.





Their menu was a whole other story. Out of the eight items they had, I wanted really wanted four of them -- oh the dilemma. Everything on their menu sounded appetising and was very decently priced so we actually considered getting more than one item. In the end, I opted for the Pineapple Bircher with mixed berry compote, ginger infused yoghurt and seasonal fruit (figs) which was a splendid choice and shared a smoked salmon bagel with Sandra, another wonderful choice. I think the standout for me was the ginger infused yoghurt in my bircher. It was something different with that extra spice to the meal and everyone else really enjoyed it too.

Additionally, they had an extensive drinks list (more for the night time drinks) but they didn't disappoint with the variety drinks that caters to everyone including, coffee, juices, milkshakes (Sarah ordered the Salted Caramel Milkshake), specialty loose leaf teas and you really should just go check it out yourself aahah.

Sarah's meal / Carnivore: Grilled chorizo, poached free range eggs, crisp pancetta, haloumi, blistered cherry tomatoes, tomato salsa, greens & warmed ciabatta

I am definitely going back to Hoo Ha Bar to try the other menu items I didn't get a chance to try. Drinks there one night also sounds like a pretty good idea to me as service was fast and the atmosphere of the bar just felt so relaxed and welcoming.
