Food Adventures / Little Loco

Location / 121 Merthyr Road, New Farm, Brisbane, QLD
Cuisine / Breakfast / Brunch / Lunch / Cafe

One overcast morning, Jenny and I decided to check out Little Loco after wanting to try the place since it had opened!

Little Loco is situated towards the quieter side of a busy area within New Farm however parking still seemed to cause a little trouble among us (I accidentally took Jenny's park without realising)!

As the weather was not too hot or too cold, we opted for a long table outside.

Little Loco's menu features an array of items including the good ol' Avocado on Toast, Eggs and Waffle Benedict to Coconut Mango Panna Cotta. For those health conscious and face intolerances, there are also are gluten free, vegetarian and paleo options to choose from!

With these options in front of us, we agreed to share the Loco Breakfast Board and Nutella Banana Bread.

Choosing our drinks was the really difficult part! Shakes, smoothies, cold press juices, coffee, hot chocolates and tea -- Little Loco covered all ground! Initially, I had seen the Little Loco shakes on social media, however neither of us were up for the challenge that morning. Instead, we chose to be tame and order a mocha (for Jenny) and soy latte (for me).

Nutella Banana Bread / Nutella Banana Bread, Orange Mascarpone, Puffed Millet, Hazelnut Praline, Blueberries and Strawberries

The hazelnut praline and puffed millet had an interesting, chewy texture that caught me off guard. From looking at it, I did not expect it to be so chewy! The banana bread itself was good, not too sweet and went well with Nutella and orange mascarpone.

Loco Breakfast Board / Sourdough, Two Free-Range Poached Eggs, Avocado, Spinach, Mushroom, Tomato Relish, Haloumi and Bacon

Unfortunately, I was disappointed in this breakfast board for what it was worth ($20!), compared to previous experiences anyway. I feel like it's a dish I could easily whip up at home and I found the bacon extremely oily (maybe it's meant to be super oily, who knows). The haloumi piece was also thin and being such a big fan of haloumi, it was definitely upsetting.
